On a Mission

Blog Post 18.jpg

An essential component of many, if not all, businesses is a mission statement. The mission statement sets intention and provides the organization with clear direction and focus. Like businesses, individuals benefit from leading lives with purpose and intent. Having a personal mission statement provides you with a roadmap for how to live your life on purpose and grounds you in what you value most.

My inspiration for this post comes from a statement I wrote nearly 25 years ago. Looking back at that time of my life, I was a young college student searching for a place in the world that aligned with my spiritually-connected soul and my desire to have a positive impact on my community.

Personal mission statements are just that… personal, and this updated circa 1993 statement (I only changed 2 things) is just as relevant to me now as it was then. It was my opportunity to thoughtfully declare the who, what and why of Vidrale.

As we embark on a new year, make some time for true self-reflection. Be honest with yourself and acknowledge your greatness!

What’s your source of inspiration?
What do you value?
Who are you when you’re at your best?
Who do you aspire to be?
What feeds your soul?

Your To Do
Craft your own personal mission statement or look back at the one you’ve already devised. Getting clear about your purpose in life provides a roadmap for how we live and love our lives.

Enjoy the journey to (re)discovery!
